  1. “Little Women” is so cute and wholesome! And I bet you get a ton of banter inspiration from your siblings.

I only have one sibling. She’s a hyper little chihuahua on a calm day. Actually, she was who I based Tandri off of in SR1. So…yeah. A lot of those pranks were inspired by real events. I don’t know if we have any crazy inside jokes, necessarily, but we do have some things unique to our siblinghood. Like how we play Uno. And badminton. And just about every other sport. Oh, and we make up the zaniest nicknames for each other.

As for favorite fictional siblings, I think Zinni and Anthi would be hilarious. The Pevensies would be great, too. And Charlotte and John Mark from the Wyoming Sunrise series and Rhys and Sean from The Dragonkeep Chronicles.

    1. Yes!! It was the first book I ever cried to, as a matter of fact 🤭 (And yep, I get a ton of banter inspiration from them 😂)

Aww, your sister sounds so fun to be around! 😆 Heyy, pranks and crazy nicknames are most definitely on par with inside jokes…honestly I don’t know why my siblings barely do any pranks.

AH! That’s who I was forgetting – Zinni and Anthi! They are an epic sister duo! 💞

  2. Whenever anybody asks me how many siblings I have, I have to explain my answer very carefully: technically I have just one sibling, but I also have two cousins that I refer to as siblings because we live together and are *that* close. 🥰

Also—what are siblings without inside jokes?! We have so many, one of my sis and my faves being “We liked Gab…Until we *didn’t* like Gab…” (in reference to a certain book we read.). And my sister and girl cousin stay up in bed laughing too!!! I love it so much. 🥰

My favorite literary siblings have to be the Lindsey kids in When Marnie Was There, AnneMarie and Kirstie in Number the Stars, and Jean and Lotta in the ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Department series. I would love to be part of their families!!! Oh, I’d love to be the big sister to the Lindseys, they are too CUTE. And I’d treat Anna as a sister too…

    1. Aww, that is so sweet!! I love that you’re so close to those cousins!!! 🥰

RIGHT? 🤣 It’s so much fun!

Wait, how have I literally never read any of those??? 😅 Their families sound so awesome!!!

  3. Hehe, I notice that the younger Bennet girls were expressly left out of your favorite siblings groups 😉

I agree with you about sister stories! They do seem to lack a certain something sometimes, don’t they? (I suppose I have no right to argue the point, since I only have brothers and so cannot speak from experience…but if you say so too and you do speak from experience, I think we can safely say that it’s a real phenomenon. :P)

    1. Lol yes 😂 *apologizes to Mary, Kitty, and Lydia*

Okay, I’m glad I’m not the only one with this opinion! 😆 (Nah, your opinion is still valid! 😜 Indeed, it’s a real phenomenon. *shakes head and sighs*) But that’s why when I read a GOOD stories about sisters, I absolutely love it! ❤

  5. Yes on all points! Sibling relationships in fiction (and real life) are the best. I’m the eldest of five, so I can relate quite a lot to you😂
Ohh Amy’s book burning… that is my greatest and most irrational fear😂

Ah, SARAINA, those snippets are AMAZING and so relatable! I love your writing style🥰 I cannot wait for the Black Rose Collection!

  6. Ah I loved reading this!!! We definitely need more books with awesome sibling relationships! Especially among sisters because coming from a family of mostly girls (I’m the fifth kid of six and there’s only one brother) I might be a bit too critical on how I think they should be written. (So far Little Women is the only one I can think of off the top of my head that’s met my approval XD) I would hate having Lydia as my sister too. She just drives me crazy so much that I’d probably end up slapping her if she was my sister. XD Also the INSIDE JOKES! YES! Definitely one of the best parts about having siblings!! There was one time my oldest sister and I was laughing so hard for like forever over a joke about the Alexandria Library. After we found out it had burned down twice, my sister mentioned that if they had a Linkedin account, they’d put being the librarian as a temporary position and next thing I knew, we just kept blurting all the things they’d have to list for the job, like staying calm in danger and having some fire-fighting knowledge. Now it’s one of those random inside jokes between us. Anyway, this was a great post and you’ve got me even more hyped about your projects!

    1. Aww, thank you!!! YES!! Haha, I completely agree! Ugh, yeah, Lydia drives me insane too! (My least favorite part is when she gets married to Wickham and acts so uppity around her older sisters. I’m like, KNOW YOUR PLACE, YOUNG ONE. 🤣) LOL! That is such a fun random inside joke!!

Ack, thank you so much, girl!!! ❤ 🥰️

  7. I love this post! Sibling dynamics are one of my favorite things to write…even though I only have two (offical) siblings of my own.

One older, one younger, one sister, one brother. If you count exchange students and siblings in Christ, there’s a lot more though. 😉
