  1. I just want to say thank you so much for sharing here on your blog! It’s such always a real encouragement to me! (and makes me smile!) ❤ I love that here on your posts, you are REAL. Like it's okay to be stuck. It's okay not to accomplish all your goals the way you thought. Life happens. Things get in the way and we have to work around them or take a break sometimes…and I just really appreciate that! The way you show the reality and don't try and make it perfect – because none of us are! THANK YOU! Keep writing & God bless!

  2. Not me singing along to the song throughout the entire post. 😅

Anyway…I loved reading over this, girl! I totally relate to a lot of the stressiness (especially in regards to becoming an adult 😭). And about taking longer than you wanted with Gillory…don’t let that get you down!!! I’ve been there (Bound and Determined took me over three years to complete), and in looking back I know everything was in God’s time. And honestly? In full retrospect, the more time you can take to learn and grow and write (even slowly), the better. Rushing or jumping headfirst into things or moving forward before you’re ready rarely ends well. Not sure if that’s as encouraging as I hoped, but oh well.

Praying God’s blessing over you and all your goals and dreams for this year, girl! I so look forward to seeing what 2024 holds for you! (Also, here’s to making money as a writer this year! 🥂 [Let’s just pretend that’s peach tea instead of champagne. 😜])

    1. I’ve been playing it on repeat for like a week straight 😆

Aww, thank you!!! (I guess it’s inevitable 😭) You know what, that’s so true. And it’s insane how dramatic the difference is from when I first started writing it to where I am now…I’ve grown SO MUCH since then. 😅 Yes! That was definitely encouraging! 🥰

That means a lot, Grace!!! ❤ Thank you so much!!! (YES. 🥂 [Duly noted. 😜])

      1. You’re welcome! (Sadly, yes.) Girl, I bet!! The difference of just a year or two is so amazing! Aw, I’m glad!!

        You are so welcome!! 💕

  3. Aww, it’s so hard when you don’t meet goals; I think we all have that feeling of failure… but I’m so glad you have made remarkable progress regardless! It’s not the numbers that matter so much as the heart. Also… great song choice! God bless you (and your goals) this year! ❤

    1. Yeah, it’s quite disappointing… *sighs* Aww, thank you! You’re very right! (Glad ya approve! 😉 The lyrics hit so hard when I heard it!) Thank you so much, Hannah! ❤ I hope you have an amazing 2024!

  4. You did a lot of Awesome things! (Such as talking with Rissy, Jaidie, and me like almost twice weekly since September… lol…)

I totally get the time management thing, I had to take last year to revamp life and slow down. I way overcommit to things, to which mom told me something an older lady told her about not taking every opportunity or saying yes to every invite. “Remember that no is a complete sentence.” And “You can do a lot of things but you can’t do a lot of things well.” So those where my goals to learn, narrowing down what was important and why it was important. I think as writers there are so many good things we can do or feel we should do, but in the end we have to look at life and decide what we can practically do. You know?
My schedule looks like a list of all the things I want or need to get done in a week and then I pick between 3 and 8 (depending on how long the task takes) things to do each day. If you want you can email me about it. For 20 years I lived a very unorganized chaotic mess…lol…and now I’m finally learning the benefits of slowing down enough to layout the week and chart a course of action.

You are awesome though! And such a great, supportive, encouraging friend! Blessed to you, girl!

    1. Thank you!!!! (Ahhhh, yes! *high five* And that’s been happening since September? That feels like ages ago! 🤣)

It’s nice to know someone relates to that! 😅 Ugh yes, over-committing…so easy to do. *groans* Ah, that’s a great idea! I’m definitely gonna email you about that (or talk to you about it sometime) because I’d love to hear about how you make your schedule work!

Awww, thank you, Kayti!! ❤️ So are you!!! 🙂

  5. AHAHHAHAHAH! Hey you! What is that lovely poem-thing at the start and end of this gorgeous post?? I love it.
❤️❤️❤️❤️ AMEN to all of that. Personally, 2023 wasn’t as stressful a year for me thankfully. But I had my fair share of stress and these are such good points. Turning your eyes on Jesus and not on your goals is…so important. (I can’t help strongly disliking the word goal 🤷) Awesome realistic goals! And in light of all that went on last year AND all that you did, not doing some goals was completely worth it. And I LOVED all your short stories!!!!! Ah. 😊
And yes, what you said made so much sense!

    1. It’s the lyrics to “That’s the Thing About Praise”!

❤ ❤ ❤ That's great to hear!! Yeah, even the best year has some stressful moments 😉 Amen! (And I get that, I'm not the fondest of the word goal, for whatever reason. XD) Aww, thanks!!! Lol, very true! I'm so glad you liked them!!!

  6. Girl, I LOVED reading this post, and I also found it very encouraging for me as well. I love how you chose not to focus on what you didn’t accomplish, but on all the amazing achievements you made in the past year. (I mean, you graduated high school, became an adult, AND started working a job all in one year! That’s a lot for a girl to take in at once! *hugs*) but I totally get the feeling of being overwhelmed and always pushing yourself to the point of burning out because I do that A LOT, and I Just love how you choosing to approach this year fully expecting God to show up in ways you hadn’t planned. Like, I just love that a lot, and you’ve encouraged me to also do the same this year! I’ll be praying for you as we enter this new year that it will be both fulfilling and successful, and I can’t wait to see what God has planned for you this year!!! I’m cheering you on!!!

(Also, girl, reading 9 ARCs in a year is REALLY good compared to me who doesn’t even remember the last time I read an ARC XD)

(Also, also, I don’t know why but I found it funny that your best and worst months were at the first and last months of the year. XD)

    1. I am SO glad you found it encouraging, girl!! <333 (AMEN, GIRL. 😅 *hugs back*) Oof, you do? This year we're both gonna get better at that! 😊 Usually I know I'm about to get burnt out but I keep pushing myself anyway because I think it's worth it…when 95% of the time, it isn't. *groans* Aww! Thank you SO MUCH. 🤗 I'll be praying that you have a productive but also peace-filled year!

(Hahaha, I shall take some consolation from that fact 😛 )

(ME TOO! I thought that was so ironic! 🤣)
