Right now, do you hate your story?

Like, despise it?

*looks around the room and the lack of raised hands*

Yeah, I get it. Not a lot of us want to admit that every now and then…we hate our stories so bad it takes tremendous willpower not to smash the delete button, or to hurl it into a dumpster.

Or to keep writing.

This is definitely a big problem, and those who don’t struggle with this (bless your lucky souls) are probably shocked to discover that the same writers who gush over their beloved characters are sometimes plagued with a concerning distaste for that selfsame story.

    1. Oof, that’s tough! So glad you’ve gotten past that point, though! 😉 I was feeling like this a few months ago too…I suppose it just happens naturally when we work on one WIP for an extended period of time XD But thankfully it doesn’t have to stay that way! 😀

      1. Yeah, I’d started the editing process and it just drained me. I spent November not able to write much during KDWC. I’d wanted to write a novel but like I said the editing process just before and during November drained me. I’m glad it’s over now though. I’m at the point where I don’t feel weird/awkward sharing it anymore. And probably 8 people have read and liked it so that’s nice.
