I am SO excited share this character interview with you today!! Therese Westa is the main character from Madisyn Carlin’s DECEIVED (a New Adult Christian allegorical fantasy). I got to ask Therese some questions through Madisyn and got wonderfully interesting answers. So read on! 😀 (My questions are in bold, hers are not. Alright, maybe I didn’t need to point out the obvious. *disappears and lets Therese take over*)
Therese Westa Interview
How would you describe yourself?
I suppose I would describe myself as quiet and more of a wallflower. No one would say I am the most courageous or assertive, but I would do anything for my sisters.
Do you feel like an introvert or extrovert?
I am an introvert.
What’s your middle name, if you have one?
My middle name is “Aisli”, which was my mother’s name.
How would you describe your childhood?
I had a wonderful childhood. While we weren’t wealthy, my parents ensured I never lacked the necessities. I vividly remember running around meadows filled with wildflowers and dragonflies as Mother and Father picnicked. I knew they loved me. Mother would take me to the market a few times a month and Father would take me riding. I also remember building snowmen with them and Father consoling me when they melted.
What is your biggest personality strength?
Mother always told me I am strong-willed. While I do not think she necessarily meant it as a compliment every time she said it, being strong-willed is what has helped me ensure my sisters’ survival.
What do you most value in your friends?
I have never had many friends, and those I did have were shallow and more of acquaintances. I do know, however, I would value loyalty and the unwillingness to gossip.
What is your most treasured memory?
Two of my most treasured memories are holding my sisters for the first time. They were so small, Delli more than Nora, and were so light I was afraid I’d forget I was holding them and would drop them.
What is your worst memory so far?
My worst memory spans the duration of time when my parents died from the plague that swept Varway a few years ago.
Which person do you clash most with and why?
I try to avoid conflict, but I clash most with my client. My author has forbidden me from providing specifics, but I can tell you it is because I refuse to carry out a particular request of his.
What’s your pet peeve?
My pet peeve is when people turn a blind eye to those harming children.
What do you perceive as your biggest weakness?
I would say my greatest weakness is my inability to speak out.
What person do you feel most responsible for and why?
I feel most responsible for my sisters. Nora is nine and Delli is four and if I did not provide for them…I shudder at what would happen to them. The king does not allow urchins and orphans to roam Varway’s streets, and few are willing to take in children who are not their own. It is not only my duty as their sister to provide for them, but my duty as a human being.
Who do you trust with your deepest secrets?
I trust no one. People cannot be trusted and are too easily convinced to turn on you.

What do you think about Therese? Do you relate with her? (I know I do!) Would you answer any of the questions similarly? Do you have your mother’s middle name? 😀 What’s your pet peeve? What do you value most in your friends?

Oh my word, my poor, sweet Therese! (Will give her many, many hugs, because she needs them.) But I definitely identify with her – in some regards, though. Not all. 🙂
Great interview!! 🙂

She needs a TON of hugs! And, unlike a few other characters I know (*cough, Rogan, *cough*), she’d happily accept said hugs.

Thank you so much for interviewing Therese! I have my mom’s middle name! One of my pet peeves is when people lie and I look for loyalty and sincerity in my friends.
