When Nicki Walters returns to her former hometown of Marigold Hills, Washington, expecting to learn the reason the man she loves stopped contacting her the previous summer, all she gets from him is the cold shoulder. Though hurt and confused by his apparent indifference at her being back, she’s determined to get to the root of the matter, whether he likes it or not.

Despite the fact he’s been looking forward to seeing Nicki again, Jonathan Gray is hesitant to let her know how he feels about her, especially since the rumors his missing father murdered hers on the same day he disappeared are still swirling around town nine years later. It doesn’t help that people believe he’ll become just like him in the worst ways possible, something which he fears.

Though the past looms over their heads and the rumors threaten to tear them apart, Jonathan and Nicki know their relationship is ultimately in God’s Hands. If something deeper than friendship is the path He’s placed before them, then who is man to stop it?

H.S. Kylian (a.k.a. Hannah) H. S. Kylian (a.k.a. Hannah) has been in love with writing since she was a child. She writes mainly historical, romantic, and contemporary fiction from a Biblical worldview about flawed people clinging to faith, even if it’s by a thread. She’s also tried fantasy and sci-fi on the side, though neither of the latter two genres have seen a completed draft…yet.

Now in her late 20s, when she’s not writing, she’s daydreaming about writing while dabbling in one of her hobbies or playing board games and watching movies/TV shows with her family.

She lives with her family and their myriad of cats and dogs in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
