The Remarkable Blogger Tag! (answering impossible questions)

E. G. Bella and Grace A. Johnson tagged me several months ago, and Victoria just did at Bookworm Hollow, so I decided it was high time to give this tag a go! 😉 All three sets of questions are very fun, so let’s see how I do answering them… (Also you have to read this because I pretty much did the whole thing…then it got deleted. So please, make my broken heart worth it by giving it some love. *sobs* Really, it’s devastating. I yet again sympathize with everyone who ever had manuscript accidentally deleted.)

I’m going all in and answering all 27 questions, so buckle up for the ride and enjoy! *magically produces popcorn*

Something Unique About Me

Apparently INFPs and 4w3s aren’t all as rare as they’re made out to be, not in the world of art and imagination anyway. So I’ll go with the fact that my thumb can bend very far back. Apparently it’s so weird that people have winced to see me do it. (It’s not painful though.)

Bella’s Questions

If you could live in any type of home, anywhere in the world, where would you go and what house would you choose? (Like a treehouse in New York or something!).

Why, a lovely cottage in the English countryside, of course. (Preferably in the early 20th century. 😀 )

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Uncomfortable clothes that I’m always needing to adjust. And stepping on a dirty floor. And on a deeper note, people making false assumptions, being narrow-minded, and refusing to fairly listen to what you have to say. (Was that roasty? XD) I have more, but those are just some that come to mind first.

What would you tell the you that started your blog if you could go back to that day?

It’s not as big of a deal as you’re thinking. Just do it and don’t take yourself too seriously. *beams* Oh, also, don’t be afraid to use all-caps and plenty of emojis and other such forms of self-expression. (Sorry, that sounded so liberal. I swear it’s not. 🤣)

Is there one song out there that you think everybody should listen to?

YES! Oh my goodness. There are so many good songs, I couldn’t choose just ONE! For King and Country’s God Only Knows, Cimorelli’s You’re Worth It, Jeremy Camp’s Getting Started… *thinks of a million more* I don’t know. Songs that give hope and speak truth and conquer lies your mind tries to tell you.

If there were no limits in life for a day, what would you do first and last?

*blinks* *gulps* 🥴 I have to think about that for a minute.

Have you set yourself any challenges for the year?

Other than adding 30 more pages to my WIP this November (going pretty well!) and finishing that WIP, just goals having to due with pushing myself out of my comfort zone. 😐

How many blog posts have you written so far?

*counts on fingers like Matthew from The Chosen*

71 published, 28 drafts.

Does your blog have a niche or no?

Yes! (But I’m still working on finetuning that. 😀 ) My posts are geared toward Christian young ladies who love romance/fantasy/historical fiction, and either love to write or read meaningful, character-rich stories. Of course, there are people outside of that specific niche who can get value out of my content, such as guys or readers who adore sci-fi. But that’s the specific audience I’m targeting. 😉 (And again, I’m still working on it.)

Do you have any advice for helping a blogger get out of a writers rut?

I wrote this whole list and it got deleted, as mentioned above… so… Lord willing I’ll actually remember at least half the things I said. *puts on a brave smile*

  • take a break, if you know that’s what you really need
  • refill your creative well by indulging in things that relax AND inspire you
  • go out in nature and notice everything you can
  • set a timer for however long and type-type-type until it rings
  • rant about something you love ranting about (seriously. You know that one thing you could go on forever about? Yeah. Rant about that.)
  • write about something you’ve been thinking a lot about lately
  • get deep and even controversial (reasonably so, of course! Look, the point is to break that writers’ rut thing. 😛 Pretty sure this’ll help.)
  • share a few snippets from your WIP
  • OR share a really bad snippet from an old story you wrote years ago (bound to make us laugh!)
  • lecture your readers about how to get out of a writers’ rut *muffles a laugh*
  • do a juicy Get To Know Me post sharing some things few people know about you (I’d click on that every. single. time. Not sure what that says about me, but, I think a lot of people relate. XD)
  • take notes on your favorite posts other bloggers do and put your own twist on it
  • document your day with screenshots and photos (and share your writing space, regardless of whether or not it’s messy!)
  • take the pressure off to write something “good”
  • don’t be afraid to try something TOTALLY new – be creative and think outside the box!
  • read Grace’s post here for tons more ideas!

Y’know what, I’m going to write a post about this. Thank you so much for giving me the idea, Bella! 😀 (That’s another thing: actually do those fun post ideas that pop into your mind throughout the day!) *winks*

Victoria’s Questions

Do you like reading? If not…. why not?

GIRL.

Reading is practically my LIFE!

Which would you rather: go scuba diving with King Charles or go bungee jumping with yours truly? (If you pick King Charles, I won’t be offended, honest I won’t.)

VICTORIA?! Why this question!?!? Look, I just googled bungee jumping and the first thing that comes up is news about a lady falling to her DEATH.

As weird as it would be, I’ll chose the presumably safer option and go scuba diving with King Charles. (But please join us, Victoria!! I don’t want you to dieee!) But really, have you gone bungee jumping before, Victoria?

Who’s your favourite author? What’s your favourite book by him/her?

Another impossible question.

Get a septum piercing or split-dye your hair lime green and hot pink?

*googles what a septum piercing is with no small amount of trepidation*

*realizes I probably should have known what that was called*

I’d rather get that piercing, thankee very much. I don’t even want to fathom the thought of my hair dyed that way! (Although, I will say, a part of me would find it scarily fun. Don’t judge – even though I’m an old soul, I’m also a total child at heart. 🤭)

Do you have a weak stomach? (e.g. Do you get queasy at the sight of blood, gore, puke, etc.?)

Though I am strongly grossed out by certain things, that doesn’t manifest itself in a weak stomach. More of just a feeling of unbearable repulsion. 🤣 Blood has never bothered me in the least. Gore, on the other hand…definitely bothers me.

One thing I cannot stand is any talk of things like ribs being crushed or torn ligaments or… *shudders* Stuff like that. I’m so sensitive in that matter that I believe I can actually feel those things happening to me and it’s dreadful. *wry smile*

Like, right now, I’ve been limping because my knee is hurting (makes me feel like Evgeny from Unworthy by Vanessa Hall, lol!) and I found out that knee pain might be a result of a ruptured ligament or torn cartilage.

What is one thing that seems like it shouldn’t be scary but just freaks you out?

BUNGEE JUMPI-

One thing, you ask? Hmm. Well, confrontation of any serious kind, for one thing. For another, diving into the deep end of a pool, insects, and touching flies. *dies inside* Perish the thought!

Are pickles awesome or are they awesome?

They are awesome indeed! Especially in hamburgers! Lovely.

What’s your favourite quote?

“It is what it is, but it is not what it shall be.” (S. D. Smith, The Green Ember series)

Do you like math?

When I fully understand it, yes! It can be quite fun, actually!

And a bonus question: Have you ever been to Tim Hortons?

What’s that?

*conducts a li’le bit of research*

Oh, a restaurant in Canada…sadly, no.

Grace’s Questions

Pineapple on pizza? Yea or nay? (Sorry, I had to.)

Nay! Sounds awful!

What was your very first blog post about?

*scours the archives*

How-To Series: Adverbs (Unpopular Opinion)” It’s all about adverbs and my tips on using them. Looking back, surprise surprise, it’s actually not as cringey as I’d thought it would be! XD It could stand with a rewrite and a more personable writing style like I feel most at home in now, but I still agree with most of what I said. 😂

Who is your favorite follower? (Hint: there is only one right answer: Grace.) KIDDING KIDDING. (But also not.) My REAL question is…who has been one of your biggest supporters in starting and maintaining a blog?

YOU! All of you who comment your sweet messages and encourage me with your kind words! It means SO much to me and technically, you are my biggest supporters! And my family and dear friends who make me give them updates on it have also been so very supportive!

My older brother Joshua is a filmmaker/animator (find him at WW Studios!) and because he gets that artist’s mindset and ambition, he pushes me on and gives me some genius ideas. 😀 He was the one who was like, “You should start a blog,” long before I actually DID.

What first prompted you to start a blog?

The pressure to start building an audience for my books. Also, the desire to share writing tips with fellow writers. (And possibly to have an outlet for welcomed ranting… XD)

If you could write any post about anything thing, what would it be?

My favorite romances/ships. (That includes analyzing how those are written!) That’s just PURE FUN. I mean, come on, it would give me an outlet to gush about Kit and Cinderella from the 2015 Cinderella. 😍

Also, posts giving encouragement and using the frying pan of truth to motivate us writers. 😛 (In case you didn’t know, I motivate MYSELF with those kind of posts! Like, I’m always writing it to myself.)

I’d also to like to write a post breaking down my favorite songs, the brilliant lyrics, the vocal performance, etc. Off-topic on this writing/reading blog? Maybe. Would I do it anyway? Yes.

What’s your favorite part about being a blogger? (Probably getting to hang out with me, but you don’t have to say that. I already know how you feel. *winks*)

Literally. Getting to hang out with you beautiful people! Knowing that you actually like what I post (I hope, that is 😉 )! It’s almost surreal.

What’s your most favorite blog post EVER (that you’ve written, of course)?

Oof. That’s tricky. Well, I rather fancy the following:

What are your goals for this year? (*coughs* Kinda stealing one of Lucy’s questions here.)

Kinda same answer as the one to Bella’s question up above! But overall, my biggest goal writing-wise is to finish my WIP Gillory. Give those poor souls a promise of brighter days after all the stuff I’ve put them through.

What’s the wackiest nickname anyone’s ever given you?

Raina-Baina, perhaps? Although my siblings have probably invented weirder ones that I just don’t remember.

I Tag…

Let it be known, if you’re super busy or don’t want to do the tag, don’t feel obligated to do it!

My Questions for You

How long have you been blogging?

Do you think the time you first started blogging was a good time (as in, do you wish you’d started yours sooner/later)?

Random question to spice things up: what did you last eat for dinner?

What’s your favorite kind of blog post to write?

What candy should be banned from the earth?

If you weren’t blogging about book-related things, what would you blog about instead?

What fictional world do you wish was real?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how messy are you?

Do you plan and schedule your blog posts?

  1. Ah, this was so much fun! I like the idea of the English cottage life. 🙂 When you move there, can I join you for a vacation?

And haha, please don’t feel like Evgeny. That is rarely a good thing. (Though I’m right there with you on the knee problems – I’m dealing with that right now. And I seem to remember having knee pain when I was working on Unworthy. I guess it’s good for me to be empathetic to my characters?) 🙂

    Thanks for tagging me!

    1. Yay, thank you, Vanessa!!! YES, please join me for it! 😀 ❤ *plans a writers' retreat there*

I knoww, it's not good lol… 😂 (Aww, I'm sorry about that! I'll be praying for both of us, then! Wow, that's a rather funny – although painful – coincidence! LOL, yes! Maybe that's what helped make Evgeny's knee pain seem so realistic… *winces* *grins*)

You're so welcome! I can't wait to see your answers, if you do it!

    1. RIGHT? I’m so grateful that none of my WIPs have been accidentally deleted… as of now that is. XD *gasps and shakes head disapprovingly* Well, at least you’re going together. 😛

  3. Ah, false assumptions about someone is one of my pet peeves too XD. And no, I’d rather not go bungi-jumping lol (terrified of heights here!)

Thanks so much for the nomination, Saraina! You’re questions look super fun and I can’t wai to answer them 🙂

  4. Um… I have a confession. I’m still not sure if I would ever go bungee jumping. Although the idea of certain extreme sports seems to be growing on me… However, I am afraid of creatures in the water, so methinks I might not sign up for scuba 🤓😂 I don’t know though.

Also, can you please do a post about your favourite ships? I’d love to see how many of mine are on your list, and maybe I’d find some new books to explore and hopefully ship and fan and love 😁

And you didn’t know what Tim Hortons is? *sobs* 🤣

    1. LOL! Yeah! There is something thrilling (in a scary way, for me 😂) about
extreme sports, so I get that! ;P

YES. I’m totally going to do that!!! (Sooner rather than later, hopefully! XD)

      I’m sorryyy 🤣

  5. Girl! You wrote a Wingfeather Saga romance post! Ahh, I must read it! I’m going there right after I post this comment! Ugh, deleting things is the worst. I was halfway through a book when it got deleted accidentally 2 years ago! I don’t remember how but when I found out I literally cried! 😭 after a couple weeks I was ok and even glad because it was cringey but now I wish it hadn’t been deleted because I’ve learned a lot about writing in the last 2 years and could’ve fixed it. I’ve never had knee pain but it sounds very painful. 😬 Ooh, a Writer’s retreat? Can I come (partially kidding, lol)?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Yes!!! Oh my goodness. I can’t fathom how devastating that would be!!! I would cry too. 😭 Absolutely!! Ugh, that’s so sad. Lol, yeah, it was painful but I feel a lot better now, praise God! Of course, you can come along with us! 😛 (Though really, that would be amazing if that could actually happen one day, against all odds. XD)
