So head on over to Writer’s Vision and check it out!
S&J Editors!
Grace A. Johnson and E.K. Seaver are inexpensive but high quality editors dedicated to polishing your story! If you’re a Christian author with a fiction project ready for developmental edits, line edits, and/or copy edits, then you, my friend, have come to the right place at the right time! But here, let them introduce themselves:
“We’re a pair of indie authors who know firsthand the struggles of self-editing and scrimping for a good editor. Which is why want to provide you with the high quality and efficient service you’d expect from an expensive editor with the low prices of…well…that nonexistent editor we mentioned up there.
“And we’re honest. We won’t make you fish for a price quote or charge you unnecessary upfront costs. We won’t tear your novel to shreds (we know how much that hurts) or sugarcoat things. Instead, we’re open about our flat rates (you can find them here) and we’re committed to refining your work – not altering it.”
Here are the details…
- flat rates of $18 an hour for line edits, $16 an hour for developmental edits, and $12 an hour for copy edits
- if you don’t know how much that would be, they can give you an estimate and sample edit with their simple query form (no strings attached 😉 )
- there’s no word minimum or maximum (those short stories and novellas are welcome too!)
- nonfiction submissions are accepted if they feel qualified to handle that project
- the price can be adjusted to fit your budget!
For all the edits at once, including developmental edits, line edits, and copy edits, there’s a 10% discount off of the regular prices!
Visit www.sandjeditors.wixsite.com/services for more information!
Milanote!

Milanote is an awesome tool for creating moodboards for your story, as well as organizing your ideas and projects. You can…
- write notes and to-do lists
- upload images and files
- save text, images, and links from the internet
- add notes and photos from your phone – if you have one, unlike me 😉
If you’re unable to use Pinterest, this is a great alternative – even though you might not have as many images at your disposal, you can arrange the images and quotes and notes HOWEVER you like, and finetune it to perfectly suit whatever your WIP’s aesthetic is.
Give it a try if you think it sounds great (because it really is)!
Have you already heard of these? What are writing resources you recommend? (Seriously, please share them!) OR what are your favorites? Are there any that should be here that aren’t?
Side note, I officially hit 51 followers (42 WordPress followers and 9 email followers, to be exact), so that interview you all were SO wonderful in participating in is going to be posted soon! I’ll leave it up a little longer though, just in case someone else wants to join in!

Every writer longs to make the most aesthetically pleasing mood board this side of the Atlantic. XD It’s a top priority!
Great list! I knew about Writer’s Vision (kinda obvious, since I’m a member and all. XD) and S&J editors!
Never heard of Milanote though, it sounds a little bit like Canva.
I’d recommend the plethora of YouTube videos Abbie Emmons has on writing, (and her ones on aesthetics and getting in the writing mood for those of us struggling in that department XD)

Thank you!! Haha!! Ahh that’s true, it is a little like Canva! I guess you could kinda think of it like Canva and Slack combined, or something like that, lol… 😀
Ooo, YES!!! I totally recommend those too! (Yes indeed! 😂)

Hey Saraina! Thanks so much for listing these resources. I’ve heard of them all except Milanote, which sounds pretty cool. I’m definitely checking that out!
I also recommend Canva as a free graphic design site for writers, and Story Embers, a Christian writing community too (have you visited their site?)
And congrats on reaching 51 followers!! That’s super exciting! You’re halfway to 100!

Yes, S&J I have heard of…not milanote…might have to look into that!
I recommend as everyone has been saying Canva for design graphics and…chapter heading art! Super fun to make ove there! As well as book covers and all sorta of awesome stuff!
I’d also recommend DIYFormatting it’s a site run by Derek Murphy and they have five free formatting templates you can download for Word! Super awesome easy to use templates!
(Congrats on 50 subscribers! Can’t wait to read that interview!)

Yes! You use the Facebook post templates and it works so well! That’s how I did mine! I also made my page breakers in there and all my graphics! (Well, I made a few graphics in adobespark before I switched to Canva!)
Of course! Glad to help!
Oh, and I forgot to mention Pexel…it’s a free photo download site! Super awesome for finding images for covers or whatnot you just have to give credit to the artist.
